This summer has been busy for our team - not only did we go to Summerfest to spread appreciation for STEM and FIRST, we also held classes on Programming, Design Elements, and Electrical Concepts at one of our Elementary schools, County Line. Being able to reach out to so many children at once and show them that they are capable of doing great things, like making robots or connecting with businesses, is a one-of-a-kind experience, and can drastically improve effort in school and future success. And, not to mention, it's a whole lot of fun!
At County Line Elementrary, we worked with the students individually to teach skills we use now, which helps the kids learn, and helps us understand deeper. Perhaps cooler than teaching the kids was letting them make their own programs, towers, and circuts. Each child had the same goal, yet they all accomplished it differently and often quite creatively. All in all, it was a great experience, and we can't wait to come back for the next "High Interest Day" in two years!
Now, we're ready to take on the new season and school year. We're sad to say goodbye to the last of the original team, as this is our fourth summer, but we have some great surprises and fun in store. And, maybe a robot this fall??
